Rams planning to start Case Keenum Week 1

|

In the first two preseason games, Case Keenum has taken the field as the starter for the Los Angeles Rams and it certainly seems he will hold that spot into the regular season. There are more reports that the team is planning to start him over top 2016 draft pick Jared Goff.

NFL Media senior analyst Ian Rapoport reported is planning to have the veteran in place for their Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers over the rookie. This is a big move after the Rams drafted Goff first overall earlier this year.

Case Keenum started the final five games of the 2015 NFL season, going 3-2 and recording 828 yards and four touchdowns against just one interception. He is certainly looking to lead this team to success this year, but if he can’t they have a more than capable backup.

The Rams face off against NFC West rival 49ers on Sept. 12.
