The quarterback battle at Cincinnati this offseason has certainly be interesting, but it looks like the Bearcats have found their guy for the 2016 season. They have decided to go with youth and talent over experience by selecting Hayden Moore over senior Gunner Kiel.
Moore has been the favorite to win the starting job over Kiel and Ross Trail for much of the summer and they have finally made it official. ESPN’s Brett McMurphy reported the news on Monday.

Moore played eight games during the 2015 season as he threw for 1,885 yards and nine touchdowns, including a 557-yard, four touchdown performance against Memphis in Week 4. Moore will have to eliminate his mistakes after throwing 11 interceptions last year, but it certainly seems like he has a ton of potential and should be able to make the Bearcats a contender in the AAC.
The Bearcats open the 2016 season on Sept. 1 against UT-Martin.
