Gerald Willis’ debut with the Miami Hurricanes will have to wait.
According to a report from Matt Porter of the Palm Beach Post, Willis has been suspended by the program for the season-opener against Florida A&M for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Willis, a former four-star recruit who was rated as the No. 2 defensive tackle in his class, has not played since his true freshman season with the Florida Gators in 2014.
Willis was dismissed from Florida in January of 2015 following multiple altercations with teammates. He was then forced to sit out one season to satisfy NCAA transfer rules.
During his one season in Gainesville, Willis recorded 14 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
