The NFL has been hard at work trying to find their performer for the Super Bowl LI halftime show next February and were already unsuccessful in trying to land Adele. It looks like that if they are going after another pop megastar, Britney Spears would be willing to listen to their offer.
If you grew up in the 90s, like yours truly, you know Spears’ music very well and also know that she can still put on a pretty good show. She spoke with BBC News recently and said she would be open to making her second appearance at the show in 2017.
“Yes, I would probably do that. Definitely not on my own,” she explained. “I would have to have a little support there. Another artist, of course. I don’t think you would ever do the Super Bowl alone, that would be kind of scary. I don’t think I would be able to do it.”
It is unlikely that Spears would be alone on the stage if she were to perform as the NFL loves to have two or three other artists make an appearance. Even when Spears first performed in 2001, she was accompanied by Aerosmith, NSYNC, Mary J. Blige and Nelly.
There is no word on if the NFL has actually approached her yet, but they would certainly get a positive response from the superstar singer.
