Video: Old Dominion reveals black uniforms, players react

The Old Dominion Monarchs are moving into their third year in the FBS and they certainly look like they can make a push towards a bowl game. They will be donning some new uniforms this year as they revealed an all black look to the team on Thursday.

The team has worn black jerseys and pants in the past, but this is the first time they have revealed a look with a black helmet. The team got a peek at their new look on Thursday and their reaction was as awesome as you’d expect it to be.

Bobby Wilder has done a terrific job with the Monarchs over the last seven years, taking them to double-digit wins and appearances in the FCS playoffs in 2011 and 2012. They went 5-7 in 2015, just missing their first bowl game appearance in team history.

The team didn’t reveal if these uniforms are permanent or if they are just a one-off look. Either way, it should be well-accepted by the fans at Foreman Field.

The Monarchs take the field on Sept. 3 against the Hampton Pirates.
