The San Diego Chargers took a hit at running back on Sunday afternoon when running back Branden Oliver suffered a gruesome injury in the team’s preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Oliver was carted from the field late in the first half.
After Oliver left the game, the Chargers announced he had suffered an Achilles injury and would not return. The team, however, did not announce the severity of the injury. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look good.
A video making the rounds online shows the minute the injury took place.
WARNING: The video contains graphic material that is not for the faint of heart.

This is a big blow for the Chargers.
Without Oliver, the team will significantly lack depth behind Melvin Gordon and Danny Woodhead. We would like to wish Oliver a full and speedy recovery.
