On Monday, Ohio State University announced wide receiver Torrence Gibson has been suspended for the 2016 college football season due to a violation of the student code of conduct.
Following the announcement of the news, head coach Urban Meyer spoke to the media to address Gibson’s suspension and he made an interesting remark.
Most coaches would express disappointment in a player receiving this type of suspension on the week of the season-opener, but Miles defended his player, saying he disagrees with the suspension.
In fact, Meyer says it was not a decision by the athletic department.
Meyer said he "disagrees" with decision to suspend Torrance Gibson. Said it was not an athletic department decision.

There is still no word on what led to the suspension for the former four-star recruit, but it does deliver a blow to the Buckeyes wide receiver depth as Gibson was expected to be a contributor this season.
Ohio State kicks off its 2016 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 against Bowling Green at home.
