UAB football: ‘Last Chance U’ star D.J. Law officially on roster

“Last Chance U” released on Netflix a little over a month ago and it has already taken over as one of the most popular documentaries on the site. One of the main stars of the show, East Mississippi running back D.J. Law, has finally made his way onto campus with the UAB Blazers.

AL.com reported that Law, whose academic struggles were chronicled in the six-part mini-series, has been admitted into UAB after he made good enough grades during his summer courses at the Scooba community college. He, along with Los Angeles – Pierce Community College wide receiver Xavier Ubosi, will begin classes later this week.

Law and Ubosi will both be a part of the Blazers’ football team when it returns to the field in 2017. They disbanded the program after the 2014 season, but voted it back on earlier this year.

D.J. Law is a two-star running back out of junior college and was a three-star player out of Haines City, Florida in high school when he signed with Ole Miss, a letter that was voided, and then Utah, where he didn’t qualify. He then went to East Mississippi and played the 2014 and 2015 seasons.

Over the last two years, Law has rushed for 1,158 yards and eight touchdowns while recording 482 yards and four touchdowns in the receiving game.
