When the Nebraska Cornhuskers’ punt team took the field for the first time Saturday night against Fresno State, they did so with only 10 men and without late punter Sam Foltz. The team took a five-yard delay of game penalty, which the Bulldogs promptly declined, and it was certainly an emotional night.
The Nebraska radio guys had an incredible call of the acts by both the Cornhuskers and Bulldogs. It was emotional and a great way to memorialize Foltz one final time.
“Husker nation, permission to shed a tear” is probably one of the strongest lines I have ever heard come from a sports radio broadcaster.
It has been an emotional summer for Nebraska fans and it certainly seems like they are going to do all they can to remember Foltz going forward this year.
