Rob Ryan target of robbery attempt in 2015

Rob Ryan is no longer living in the state of Louisiana after he was hired to be the defensive coordinator of the Buffalo Bills following his firing from the New Orleans Saints last year. But it seems him leaving the state might have been for the best.

Ramon Vargas of The New Orleans Advocate reported Tuesday night that Ryan was apparently the target of a planned robbery during the 2015 preseason. Someone had dialed the wrong number and called a federal worker and left an eerie voicemail that sounded like someone planning a robbery of the former Saints’ defensive coordinator.

He don’t got no security,” the voice said, according to court documents. “He’s just a regular football coach. … He ain’t … big … like (rapper) Lil Wayne or nobody … that got bodyguards everywhere.”

The proposed indictment said that two conspirators – Jockquaren Van Norman and Larry Quinn – planned to hold up Ryan at one point during the 2015 season. The two were arrested and brought into court on the charges.

Luckily for Ryan, he didn’t seem to be affected by this. Maybe, if he hears about this, it will be a wake up call for him to live a little more secure in Buffalo.
