It certainly doesn’t seem like it is a good time to be a member for the Miami Hurricanes. It was announced on Friday that true freshman Sam Bruce will be out an undisclosed amount of time with a non-football injury.
It was reported that Bruce had suffered “an injury to his lower extremities,” which seems like an odd way to describe something not football-related. He was already set to miss the next two games as part of a three-game suspension, stemming from an incident in high school.
Just earlier this week, head coach Mark Richt praised the receiver for what he does in practice.
“Great practice player,” Richt told the Palm Beach Post. “Works hard. Brings a lot of energy. He’s not getting as many reps as the other guys, so he’s fresher. But when he gets his reps, he’s going full-speed. He looks like a player.”
Bruce was the No. 11 receiver in the country and the No. 13 player at any position in the state of Florida coming out of high school.
