Tragedy has once again struck the college football world. Over the weekend, Army Black Knights sophomore cornerback Brandon Knight was tragically killed in a single-car accident.
The fatal accident occurred just hours after the Black Knights scored a 31-14 win over Rice to advance to 2-0 on the season. He was 20 years old.
Rivals’ GoBlackKnights.com was first to report the news.
“Words cannot describe the grief that our team is feeling over the loss of our brother and friend,” Army head coach Jeff Monken said in a statement. “He was a beloved teammate and our hearts are with his family at this time of tragedy.”
Last season, Jackson started in nine games and played in all 12 for West Point. He totaled three interceptions in his short career.
Our deepest condelences go out to Jackson’s friends and family as they deal with this difficult time.
As they say at West Point, “And when our work is done, our course on earth is run, may it be said, “Well done. Be thou at peace.'”
