The Clemson Tigers have started off the 2016 campaign by barely pulling out a pair of six-point wins over Auburn and Troy. It doesn’t look like things are going to get any easier after wide receiver Hunter Renfrow went down with an injury.
The Associated Press reported late Monday night that Renfrow had suffered a broken hand in the win over the Trojans last Saturday. He will need surgery on the hand and would be out at least four weeks.
The injury came on Renfrow’s 35-yard touchdown in the second quarter of the 30-24 win over the weekend. Renfrow, a redshirt sophomore, plans to return to the field on Oct. 15 against North Carolina State.
Renfrow broke out in the College Football Playoff national championship game in January, where he caught a career-high seven passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns. He has caught four passes for 62 yards and two touchdowns so far this year.
