Former Florida Gators and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow has made his professional baseball debut as he took the field in the New York Mets’ instructional league on Monday morning. While he is making a big change from football to baseball, one thing that won’t change is his jersey number.
Tebow arrived at the Mets’ training camp Monday morning and his jersey was revealed to fans. He will wear No. 15, just as he did in Gainesville, Denver and New York.

If you didn’t think Tim Tebow was going to popular on the baseball diamond, you would be sadly mistaken. According to Jon Santucci of Treasure Coast Newspapers, Tebow’s jersey is the third-best seller on the Mets’ website, behind pitcher Noah Syndergaard and the custom name option.

Tebow will play in five minor league games over the next three weeks while he also fulfills his duties as a football analyst with the SEC Network. It will certainly be interesting to see how many fans with the No. 15 on their back show up to games in the coming weeks.
