4-Star PF Tyler Polley commits to UConn

The UConn basketball program received a major boost to its Class of 2017 on Tuesday, when four-star power forward Tyler Polley announced he has committed to the Huskies.

Polley announced his decision on social media.

“My decision to play basketball on the next level was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever made,” Polley wrote on Twitter.

“But I’m elated to announce that I will be continuing my education and basketball career at UConn with Coach Ollie and his incredible coaching staff.”

Powell, a Fort Lauderdale native, chose the Huskies over offers from programs like the Pittsburgh Panthers, Tennessee Volunteers, Oklahoma Sooners, and many others.

The 6-foot-7 forward is currently rated as the No. 32 power forward in the country and the No. 12 recruit in the state of Florida.

Powell becomes the third member of Kevin Ollie’s 2017 recruiting class.
