Cal wide receiver Chad Hansen and Syracuse’s Amba Etta-Tawo have been the first 2016 watch list additions for the Biletnikoff Award, which is set to add a handful of players throughout the college football season.
Hansen earned his place on the list following a hot start to the season for the Golden Bears, who sit at 2-1. Through three games, Hansen has hauled in 40 catches for 546 yards and five touchdowns.
Etta-Tawo’s team has been less successful as the Orange are off to a 1-2 start this year.
Despite the slow start, Etta-Tawo has been a bright spot on the Syracuse offense. Through three games, Etta-Tawo has 28 catches for 436 yards and three scores.
The 2016 Biletnikoff Award winner will be presented live on Dec. 8 on The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.
The Biletnikoff Award is given out annually to the receiver in the nation, not just wide receivers. Any player, regardless of position (tight end, slot receiver and back, inside receiver, wide receiver, split end, and running back) who catches a pass is eligible for the award.
