4-star WR Tren’Davian Dickson leaves Houston

The Houston football program is losing a highly-touted freshman. This week, an athletic spokesman confirmed four-star wide receiver Tren’Davian Dickson is no longer with the Cougars.

Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle was first to report the news.

Coming out of high school, Dickson was the No. 15 wide receiver in his recruiting class and the No. 15 recruit in the state of Texas. The 5-foot-11 pass catcher initially committed to the Baylor Bears, but transferred from the program in the midst of this summer’s sexual assault scandal.

Houston was seeking a waiver that would allow Dickson to play immediately, but there was never any announcement of a decision.

The Cougars have not confirmed a reason for Dickson’s departure.

As a recruit, Dickson also had offers from Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and many others. It will be interesting to see where he lands next.
