Michigan State football: Tyler O’Connor still starter after loss to Wisconsin

The Michigan State Spartans had a lackadaisical offensive effort in a 30-6 loss against the Wisconsin Badgers today. Spartan quarterback Tyler O’Connor only threw for 224 yards and three interceptions, but it seems he will still take the field for the team.

Head coach Mark Dantonio spoke about O’Connor, who was replaced by backup Brian Lewerke on the final drive of the game. Dantonio said that O’Connor will fix his mistakes and be able to lead the team into the future.

Coming into this game, O’Connor had thrown for 431 yards and five touchdowns against just two interceptions. His touchdown to interception ratio is now even and he will have to fix his mistakes if the Spartans want any chance of repeating as Big Ten champions.

Michigan State continues their season next week when they take to the road against the Indiana Hoosiers next week.
