Entering Week 4 of the college football season, Florida State Seminoles star running back Dalvin Cook was struggling to get it going in 2016. Cook had yet to eclipse 100 yards rushing in a single game and had just 228 yards and two touchdowns through three games.
On Saturday against South Florida, that all changed.
Cook finally had his breakout game and flashed the skills we were all looking for. Cook scorched the Bulls defense to the tune of 267 yards and two touchdowns.
So, yes, Cook doubled his season statistics in just one game.
That performance squashed any concerns about a potential injury or something slowing Cook down on the field and the star rusher reminded everyone that he was fine while speaking to the media after the game.
“I know my body, I know my mind. There’s nothing wrong with Dalvin, to answer all the questions,” Cook said.
Perhaps the most impressive part of Cook’s performance was that rushed for nearly 200 yards AFTER CONTACT.
We will have to see if Cook can keep that momentum rolling.
If he does, we should expect to see the Florida State running back climbing his way back up the Heisman rankings in the coming weeks.
