The Florida International Panthers were expected to make an impact in Conference USA this year, but they have yet to earn a win one month into the season. As a result of the 0-4 start, FIU has fired head coach Ron Turner.
The firing came after the Panthers fell to the UCF Knights, 53-14, on Saturday.
Ron Turner is out at FIU, a person informed of the decision told @USATODAYsports. Coaching carousel has begun.

The Panthers had been slowly improving over the last few years and they hoped to make a bowl game this season.
In three and a half years with the Panthers, Turner accumulated a 10-30 record. He previously spent eight seasons with Illinois, taking them to a Big Ten championship and Sugar Bowl berth in 2001.
The Panthers look to record their first win of the 2016 college football season on Saturday, Oct. 1 against the Florida Atlantic Owls.
