The Miami Marlins organization is still grieving over the loss of star pitcher Jose Fernandez over the weekend. Fernandez, a Rookie of the Year and two-time all-star, died in a boating accident early Sunday morning at age 24.
Following Fernandez’s death, the Marlins canceled Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Braves.
However, the team must do the unthinkable and return to action on Monday night against the New York Mets. For that game, every Marlins player will be taking the field with the No. 16 on their back in a touching tribute to Fernandez.
In honor of Jose Fernandez, all Marlins players will wear his No. 16 tonight against the Mets.

Everyone will certainly be stepping onto the field with a heavy heart on Monday.
The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET at Marlins Park.
