During Saturday’s loss to the Tennessee Volunteers, Florida wide receiver Brandon Powell was flagged and ejected for “punching” safety Rashaan Gaulden in the face. After the SEC reviewed the tape, however, it doesn’t look like he will miss any time this weekend against Vanderbilt for the incident.
Here is video of the punch, which seemed more like a gesture towards the face, Powell threw on Gaulden, who should receive an Oscar for his performance in the incident.

The SEC has now ruled that Powell will not have to miss the first half of Saturday’s game against the Vanderbilt Commodores. He originally was ruled out for the first two quarters after being ejected in last week’s game.
“We’ve received word that he’ll go and nothing from there so it was full go from Monday afternoon on,” Gators coach Jim McElwain said a press conference on Wednesday.
Powell is one of the better receivers for the Gators this year. He is second on the team with 15 receptions for 145 yards and two scores.
The Gators and Commodores meet up on Saturday at 12 noon EDT on SEC Network.
