The city of Miami was rocked by the sad news of Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez dying in a tragic boating accident last weekend. The city has bonded together since then and the Miami Hurricanes football team will honor the late pitcher on Saturday.
The Hurricanes announced they would be wearing special helmet stickers in remembrance of the Marlins star pitcher. The “JF16” sticker is a great way to remember Fernandez, who was a big part of the Miami Cuban community.

During his tragically short career, Jose Fernandez twice was named to the NL All-Star team. He was also named NL Rookie of the Year in 2013 after he hurled a 2.19 ERA along with 187 strikeouts.
The Hurricanes host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at 12 noon EDT on Saturday and it should be an entertaining game. It will also be emotional with many Marlins fans in attendance.
