During Saturday’s meeting between Penn State and Minnesota, benches cleared because of a kicker. Seriously. Nittany Lions specialist Joey Julius, the 5-foot-10, lord only knows how heavy kicker, finally met his match.
Julius has become a bit of a cult hero for consistently leveling opponents on kickoffs throughout the season.
Unfortunately, the 271-pounder came in contact with Golden Gophers freshman linebacker Jaylen Waters on Saturday and learned what it is like to be on the receiving end of one of those huge hits.
First, there was this.

Then, later in the game, Waters let his presence be known with a devastating blow to Julius, who crumbled to the ground. After the hit, benches cleared.
Kickers are people, too, everyone.
Even though Julius may be a bit bigger than most, he’s still a human. Then again, Julius hasn’t taken it easy on anyone all season long, so it was only a matter of time until he met a worthy adversary.
