Oregon football fan starts GoFundMe for Mark Helfrich’s buyout

The Oregon football program is currently on a three-game losing streak and patience is running thin. This week, one fan has launched a GoFundMe campaign to pay for head coach Mark Helfrich’s buyout.

The fan, Ryan Sotelo of Santa Cruz, Calif., is hoping to raise a total of $11 million.

“As fans of Oregon, we all love our Ducks. We love them too much to allow a coach like Helfrich ruin the program,” Sotelo wrote. “The Ducks have the best facilities, the best gear, the best of everything…Now they need the best coach. Mark Helfrich is not the guy for the job. Its time to take action and make a statement for the Oregon AD.

“That statement? Fire Helfrich.”

Currently, $240 has been raised on 13 angry fans. It’s going to take a lot more than that to get Helfrich fired.

The Ducks can look to bounce back in a big way this weekend and earn their first win of conference play when hosting the No. 5 Washington Huskies Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
