Florida QB Luke Del Rio will start against Mizzou

Quarterback Luke Del Rio is set to return this Saturday when the University of Florida plays Missouri. Gators coach Jim McElwain conceded that Del Rio would have played last weekend against LSU had the game not been postponed indefinitely.

Del Rio was recovering from a sprained knee that he suffered in a game against the North Texas Mean Green. He missed two games as a result, most notably a loss to rival Tennessee. He may have played if the game hadn’t been postponed, but an extra week of rest still goes a long way.

The Gators are 1-1 in their conference and with there being doubt as to when the LSU game will be played, they are very much alive if they win out in conference play.  Their schedule still holds Georgia, Arkansas and rival Florida State at the end of the season.

Del Rio, a sophomore, has thrown for 762 yards this season with six touchdowns and two interceptions.
