Arkansas professor apologizes for screaming at Bret Bielema

One of the most bizarre situations to emerge over the weekend in college football was when an Arkansas professor was escorted from the stadium after cussing out Razorbacks head coach Bret Beielama for his poor record.

Lawton Lanier Nalley, an assistant professor of agricultural economics and agribusiness, was arrested for his actions on Saturday and charged with public intoxication.

Nalley reportedly yelled, “If I had your record I’d be f***ing fired. F*** you.”

He has since apologized.

“I embarrassed myself, the college and the university,” Nalley said in a statement, via the Arkansas Democrat Gazette. “I hold myself to higher standards and have no excuses for my actions. I especially want to apologize to Coach Bielema.”

Bielema seemed to take it all in stride.

“I get a lot yelled at me, I was halfway impressed he said my name correctly,” the coach joked. “If it’s By-leany I usually don’t turn around – or bulimic. I think he’s in the Ag school. I’ve done a couple talks over there. I guess I probably won’t be invited to speak in his classroom.”

Arkansas currently sits at 4-2 on the season with the No. 22 ranking in the nation.

Nalley may not be too happy with Bielema or the football team’s performance, but this year the team has actually been performing at a high level. The Razorbacks return to action this weekend against Ole Miss.
