Once considered the answer to Texas’ post Vince Young malaise, the Kai Locksley era is over before it even got off the practice squad.
Frustrated over the lack of playing time he has received in his time at Texas, Locksley confirmed his intention to transfer out of Texas at the end of the season. He intends to issue a statement detailing his arrival at this decision. Locksley was a redshirt freshman who was currently sitting fourth on the depth chart.

Locksley reportedly made his decision over a month ago.

Locksley stands 6-foot-4 and has also practiced at wide receiver. Head coach Charlie Strong was at one point so convinced that Locksley was the answer, that former co-offensive coordinators Shawn Watson and Joe Wickline, along with Strong, all flew to Baltimore in late January 2015 to convince to sell the recruit on the Texas Longhorns.
Locksley previously intended to go to Florida State.
Another swing and a miss in the Charlie Strong era. Did that hot seat just get a little hotter?
