San Diego State star running back Donnel Pumphrey continues to make a strong case for the Heisman Trophy. During Friday night’s 42-3 shellacking of San Jose State, Pumphrey made his mark in the Aztecs history.
In the third quarter, Pumphrey scampered for a 23-yard touchdown which broke the school touchdown record. Pumphrey now tops the San Diego State record books with 63 career scores.
Who previously held the school record? The legendary Marshall Faulk, so it is certainly an incredible achievement for the senior.

Pumphrey currently has 1,246 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 191 carries this season as the Aztecs sit with an impressive 6-1 record. San Diego State returns to action next Friday against Utah State on the road.
