College Football Playoff rankings: Kirk Herbstreit’s top 4 after Week 8

The official unveiling of the first College Football Playoff rankings of the season is still a couple of weeks away, but ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit continues to give us a glimpse into his mind for his top four rankings each and every week.

After another wild Saturday which included losses to No. 2 Ohio State and No. 11 Houston, the top of the rankings are in for a major shake up.

As you would expect, the defending national champion Alabama Crimson Tide remain in the No. 1 spot. Clemson and Michigan also get the playoff nod.

But who will slide into the playoff foursome to take the Buckeyes’ spot and how did it impact the rankings? According to Herbstreit, that honor should go to the Washington Huskies.

What do you think of Herbstreit’s College Football Playoff projections? Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts and predictions of your own.
