Mississippi State’s Darryl Williams ‘doing fine’ after being carted off vs. Kentucky

There was a scary situation on Saturday for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, when offensive lineman Darryl Williams went down with an injury that forced him to leave the field on a stretcher.

Williams had movement in his hands and feet, but was transported tothe University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center for further evaluation.

On Sunday, the Bulldogs provided an update on social media and it was a positive one.

Great news. Darryl Williams is doing fine. Tests were negative. He and our ath. training staff will fly back to Starkville later this AM.

There was no further information on an exact injury or the eventual timeline for Williams’ return to the field.

Mississippi State ultimately was upended by Kentucky, 40-38, falling to 2-5 on the year. The Bulldogs are currently in the midst of a three-game losing streak, while Kentucky advanced to a surprising 4-3 in 2016.

Dan Mullen and company will look to turn things around next weekend when Mississippi State hosts Samford.
