Florida State’s Derwin James ‘definitely out’ vs. Clemson

There was some hope that Florida State star safety Derwin James would be able to return to the field for the Seminoles ahead of Saturday’s pivotal clash against the Clemson Tigers, but that will not be the case.

On Thursday, it was confirmed by head coach Jimbo Firsher that James is “definitely out” this weekend.

James has been out of action since tearing his meniscus in Week 2.

The good news for Florida State is that the star safety should return within the next week or two.

Entering the season, James was widely regarded as the best defensive back in college football and a preseason All-American. Unfortunately, injuries have derailed his sophomore campaign.

But once James is able to return to the field, we’d expect nothing but the unrivaled playmaker he was since bursting onto the scene last year.
