There was a frightening situation on the sideline during today’s AFC West clash between the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers.
Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Phillips was observing the game from the sideline. After Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers threw an interception to Denver, a San Diego player ended up drilling Phillips at full speed.
Phillips crashed to the ground.

After being observed by the medical team, Phillips was loaded on a stretcher and carted off the field.

Phillips was taken to hospital for evaluation and is reportedly alert and has movement in all extremities. We will update you with more information as it becomes available. We would like to wish Wade Phillips a full and speedy recovery.
At the time of this righting, the Broncos lead the Chargers, 10-7, with halftime approaching at Sports Authority Field on CBS.
