Around the Horn’s Halloween episode raises the bar with great costumes

|

Halloween is here and nobody has caught the fever quite the way ESPN’s “Around the Horn” did in its program earlier today. Not only did its participants dress up in killer costumes, they were in character during the show.

J.A. Adande as Odell Beckham Jr., Sarah Spain did a couple of characters including Adele and Melania Trump. Frank Isola played a convincing Jim Harbaugh and Israel Gutierrez deftly portrayed UFC star Connor McGregor.

Spain was especially impressive with her Melania Trump impersonation.

Ultimately, it was “McGregor” who got the win and some camera time that the brash Irishman loved.

Props to all of the participants for being so willing to jump into this kind of thing on national broadcast television, but none of them were quite on par in terms of difficulty with Gutierrez. An verbose Irishman is a tough sell for anybody to make.

It was a truly entertaining edition of Around the Horn and if you get a chance to watch it on rerun you definitely should. Everyone was really into it. They brought props, mimicked gestures, really great.
