Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes’ father arrested for public intoxication at TCU game

While Patrick Mahomes and the Texas Tech Red Raiders were enjoying a great win over TCU on the field, the star quarterback’s father was enjoying himself a little too much in the stands.

According to multiple reports, Pat Mahomes, the Texas Tech signal-caller’s father, was arrested during Saturday afternoon’s game for public intoxication.

The incident reportedly happened near the end of the Red Raiders’ double-overtime win.

From the Star-Telegram:

Mahomes was causing a disturbance and “acting belligerent” in the stands when he was arrested by an off-duty Fort Worth police officer who was working at the game, said Sgt. Marc Povero, a Fort Worth police spokesman.

Mahomes was booked into the Fort Worth city jail and released later Saturday night.

Mahomes, one of the top quarterbacks in college football, finished the game with 206 yards passing, 39 yards rushing and three total touchdowns.

On the season, Mahomes has tossed 3,519 yards, 28 touchdowns and seven picks.
