Navy-Notre Dame game to be played at MetLife Stadium in 2020

On Thursday, it was announced that a 2020 matchup between the Navy Midshipmen and Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sept. 5.

“We are excited to return to MetLife Stadium, one of the finest venues in North America, for the 2020 Navy-Notre Dame game,” Naval Academy director of athletics Chet Gladchuk said in a press release. “It will make for a great weekend of sightseeing in New York City and watching the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in all of college football. Our last trip to MetLife Stadium in 2010 was a memorable one.”

The news comes ahead of this weekend’s meeting between the two programs, which marks the 90th consecutive year that they have met. Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. ET at EverBank Field in Jacksonville.
