There was a terrifying scene in Columbus on Saturday night, when Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong went down following a hard hit and remained motionless on the field.
The medical staff attended to Armstrong, before cutting off his jersey and pads.

After taking the hard hit, Armstrong fell head first into the turf and was knocked unconscious.

Armstrong was carefully loaded onto a backboard and then placed into an ambulance to be transported to the local hospital. If there is some positive news, it is that Armstrong gave a thumbs up to the crowd as he was being taken off of the field.
