Texas Tech defender steals ball at goal line, returns it 99 yards for TD

In what could very well end up being the play of the year, the Texas Tech defense literally ripped a touchdown out of the arms of star Texas Longhorns running back D’Onta Foreman and sprinted 99 yards for a score the other way.

Foreman was dragging the entire Red Raides defense to the goal line when Texas Tech’s Douglas Coleman stripped the ball and returned it for a school record.

That’s where the extra sprints after practice pay off. Going the length of the field and the Red Raiders are making Texas sweat. The Longhorns are coming off a big win against Baylor last week and were hoping to cruise to a win against the Red Raiders this week.

It appears they had different plans.

Texas Tech will be no easy out, though. They are 4-4, same as the Longhorns, and while they don’t play as tough as of a schedule, they lost a close game to the Oklahoma Sooners last week. They triumphed over a disappointing TCU team last week, who’s offensive potency hasn’t been able to carry them the way they hoped.
