Report: Jeff Tedford closing in becoming Fresno State’s next coach

The Fresno State Bulldogs are reportedly closing in on their next head football coach.

According to a report from Football Scoop on Wednesday, former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford is closing in on a deal for the job. If things go well for Tedford, a deal could be reached by the end of the week.

Tedford previously coached at Fresno State, serving as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator from 1992-97.

Tedford is best known, however, for his time at Cal from 2002-12.

Fresno State, currently in the midst of a dreadful 1-9 season, is off this week before returning to action on Nov. 19 against the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at home. Who knows, by the time the Bulldogs return to the field in two weeks, we may know the future of their head coaching vacancy.
