One of the most overlooked positions in football is the place holder. I know they have to hold the ball “laces out,” and that’s only because of Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
That isn’t stopping Michigan holder Garrett Moores from putting together a highlight reel for himself as he makes a push for H.O.T.Y. award.

Certainly some tongue-in-cheek there, but what other placeholder will have a touchdown run in their reel?
The thing is, I still can’t tell if he is any good. I know his team is hands down one of the most dominant, and he is on the field for them, so it stands to reason that he is a talented place holder. But is he better than these other guys?

Chris Gulla of Penn State is my favorite to take the award. Why? Best last name. Though Old Dominion Bailey Cate is putting up big numbers holding the ball for Division III Old Dominion.
