Conor McGregor big announcement: ‘Lil Mac’ is on the way

Conor McGregor made history on Saturday night.

In the main event of UFC 205, the featherweight champion was able to overwhelm lightweight title holder Eddie Alvarez en route to a dominant knockout victory on Saturday night.

With the win, McGregor became the first fighter in UFC history to hold two belts in different weight classes simultaneously.

But after the fight, McGregor had some other stuff he wanted to talk about.

McGregor took the opportunity at the post-fight press conference to confirm rumors that a baby McGregor was on the way.

“There’s a few bombshells I wanted to hit, I was like will I do it, will I don’t do it…well I’ve a few announcements, one announcement is I’m going to be a daddy early next year,” McGregor said. “I don’t know what way to take it, it’s going to mess with my head to be bringing a child into this. I don’t even know, I don’t want no celebrity type shit. I hate all that, I don’t want my family to be like that.

“So that’s kind of a little thing in the back of my head, so I’m going to just have this baby, take a little bit of time and see what way I feel after that and then that’s it, they’ve got to come talk to me now.”

Now that McGregor holds belts in two weight classes, the promotion will likely want him to return as soon as he can.

If he doesn’t, we’d say he has earned the right to take some time off after fighting anyone and anywhere consistently since he joined the Ultimate Fighting Champions.
