The Michigan football program already had an impressive crop of incoming freshman for the Class of 2017, but on Tuesday the rich got even richer.
Four-star safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell, out of Cass Technical in Detroit, took to Twitter on Monday morning to announce he has decided to stay close to home to play for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines.
The 6-foot safety made his announcement with a statement and series of graphics showing him in Michigan gear.
“Special thanks to all the coaches that have recruited me. I truly appreciate you for showing how great your universities are. With that being said, I have decided that I will be attending the University of Michigan and look forward to early enrolling. Go Blue,” he wrote on Twitter.
