Ezekiel Elliott favored to win NFL MVP

Ezekiel Elliot has had the kind of start to a season that most players only dream about.

Already over 1,000 yards just nine games into the season, it is no wonder why he has the top selling jersey in the NFL right now. The Dallas Cowboys rookie running back has helped guide “America’s team” to the best record in the NFL and is threatening the all-time rookie rushing record set by Hall of Fame legend Eric Dickerson.

Put all these things together and it is no wonder why Bovada has Elliot as likeliest of taking home MVP honors at the end of the season.

Here are the current odds:

  • Ezekiel Elliot+250
  • Tom Brady+275
  • Matt Ryan+500
  • Russell Wilson+900
  • Derek Carr+1000
  • Dak Prescott+1000
  • Matthew Stafford+1600

While Elliot continues his success on the field, questions linger about the off the field issues that have become a distraction during his rookie season. Earlier this season, a woman identified as Elliot’s ex-girlfriend claimed that he assaulted her and provided photos of bruises and her knees, arm and neck. He was cleared by the police but the NFL is continuing its investigation.

The distraction has not kept him from excelling on the field thus far, and barring any NFL mandated consequences, Elliot could very well find himself surpassing Dickerson’s 1,787 yard rookie season and winning MVP.
