Les Miles has been a man about town since he was fired as coach of the LSU Tigers earlier this season. No longer hindered by contractual affiliations with any program, he is free to wear his fandom loud and proud.
Prior to the Michigan Wolverine-Indiana Hoosier matchup today, Miles was spotted wearing a Michigan hate at a tailgate party.
Miles, an alumni, former offensive lineman and graduate assistant coach for the Wolverines, had been linked to the coaching job at Michigan several times throughout his career. If it weren’t for the fact that Jim Harbaugh is having such outrageous success so early into his tenure, there would certainly be rumors swirling.
Miles is a name that will be on the lips of every A.D. looking to fill a football head coaching vacancy this offseason. He should have his pick of where he wants to go, unless he wants to go to Michigan. He has allegedly already started the process of assembling his coaching staff and has been linked to Purdue in recent weeks.
Oregon, who is expected to be in the market for a winning coach this offseason, is another potential suitor.
