Texas players show support for Charlie Strong after press conference

Charlie Strong appears to be a lame duck coach entering Friday night’s regular season finale against TCU.

There have been reports swirling that the Texas Longhorns will part ways with the head coach following the game, but Strong continues to show up for work and hold his head high.

On Monday, Strong met with the media and was all class while discussing his future, saying he hopes to return to Texas next season.

After the press conference, Strong made his way from the podium and was showered by support from his players, so it’s clear that while the boosters may want him out the players have his back.

In the midst of a terrible situation, this has to bring Charlie Strong some happiness.

While he is likely coaching in his final game as Longhorns head coach, it is clear that he has made an impact in the locker room and in the lives of the young men he has been leading.

Kickoff between Texas and TCU is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports 1.
