UCLA Bruins freshman point guard Lonzo Ball is expected to be one of the top players in the nation throughout the basketball season, and he is already drumming up plenty of excitement.
One of Ball’s biggest fans, his father Lamar, is even so energized by his son’s play that he was willing to make a bold prediction.
While being interviewed by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman during UCLA’s blowout win over Portland on Thanksgiving Day, Lavar went ahead and made the bold statement that the Bruins will win the national title this season.

UCLA entered the season with 60-t0-1 odds to bring home the national title, so they’re certainly underdogs in the eyes of the oddsmakers.
However, after a 5-0 start to the year, perhaps those odds will get better as the season continues.
Hopefully Lavar places his bet while the value is still there.
