LeBron James made it very clear ahead of time that he intended on being present at the Ohio State-Michigan game this afternoon. He, along with teammate J.R. Smith, were not only present, but they were suited up head to toe in Buckeye gear and warmed up on the field before the game.

Last season, he delivered his hometown Cavaliers a come-from-behind NBA Finals championship. He was also a presence at the Cleveland Indians World Series run.
With this kind of visibility, James has likely already surpassed Drew Carrey as Mr. Ohio.
The Buckeyes College Football Playoff hopes remain uncertain even with a victory against Michigan. With Penn State winning their head-to-head matchup earlier tho season, the Buckeyes might find themselves blocked out of the Big Ten championship and vying to clinch a playoff birth without having won their conference.
A win here, and LeBron James roaming the sideline, could set Ohio State up nicely to run roughshod throughout the country on the recruiting trail. A win or loss here will echo for a year in the minds of everyone involved; James is hoping some of his Champion juju will rub off on the Buckeyes this afternoon.
