Video: Basketball player runs out clock thinking team was winning

We officially have the most embarrassing moment of the first month of the college basketball season, and this may be a tough one to top.

On Monday night, Brown and Butler were locked in a close game that went down to the final seconds.

Bryant’s Nisre Zouzoua drilled a three-pointer that put the Bulldogs ahead, 90-89, before Brown’s Tavon Blackmon dribbled down the court and made a clutch layup which gave his team a 91-90 lead with just over three seconds left.

That’s when Bryant freshman guard Ikenna Ndugba took the inbound pass with a chance to be a hero.

Unfortunately, he mistakenly thought his team was ahead, and dribbled out the clock resulting in a one-point loss for Bryant. As you can tell, the moment of realization that he cost his team the win was a tough one.

Ndugba is just a freshman, so this will obviously be a learning experience for him. But yikes, this will be a tough pill for him and his teammates to swallow.
