Urban Meyer salary: Buckeyes coach gets fat College Football Playoff bonus

Urban Meyer is one of the most successful college football coaches in recent memory and he gets paid a handsome sum. Meyer’s salary is a whopping $6.5 million annually, trailing only Alabama’s Nick Saban as the highest paid coach in college football.

But if you were already jealous of Meyer’s yearly compensation, get ready for some extra salt in your tears because the Ohio State leading man is set to earn a fat bonus during bowl season.

According to USA Today, Meyer will receive $250,000 for leading the Buckeyes to the Fiesta Bowl.

If Ohio State is victorious against the Clemson Tigers, Meyer’s bonus would jump to $350,000 for making the national championship game.

It’s good to be the head honcho in Columbus.

Ohio State and Clemson take the field in their national semifinal on Dec. 31. Kickoff between the No. 3 Buckeyes and No. 2 Tigers is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
