Oregon president wants Willie Taggart to focus on improving defense

The Oregon Ducks recently hired Willie Taggart away from UCF to become the next head football coach, and those at the university are really hoping to change things up.

During the Chip Kelly era, the Ducks were known for their incredible offense.

But after years of failed seasons under Mark Helfrich, the University of Oregon president is hoping things will drastically change. Specifically, Oregon president Michael Schill wants Taggart to find a “great defensive coordinator.”

It may be a shot at the previous regimes, but it’s also some quality advice.

If Taggart is unable to turn things around in Eugene on the defensive side of the ball, it could be sooner rather than later that he is on the hunt for a new gig.
